[Word Power - Hello Channel] A (Part 1)

I would like to introduce some amazing English lessons "Word Power" from Hello Chanel.
The first lesson begin from character A, and we can see many words start from A.
1. Ability means the power to do something.
He has great ability in art.

2. Able means having the power to do something.
The boy is able to ride the bicycle.
The girl is able to read the book.

3. Abrupt means sudden and unexpected.
The car came to an abrupt halt.

4. About has two meanings.
a) About means almost or nearly
The glass is about half full.
b) About also means of or having a relation to.
We talk about the weather

5. Above means on of or at a higher place.
The ceiling is above the floor.

6. Absent means not present.
The girl was absent from class.

7. Absorb means soak up a liquid or take in information.
The sponge ansorbs the juice.
The students absorb the lesson from the teacher.

8. Abuse means bad treatment causing harm or injury.
If you do not change the oil in your car you will abuse the engine.

9. Accept means to agree to recieve.
The teacher will accept the assignment to teach the class.

10. An Accident is something that happens by chance or mistake; an unplanned event.
the car did not stop at the stop sign and caused an accident.
I met him quite by chance in the train.

11. Accompany means to go somewhere with someone.
The dog accompanies the woman to the park.
A child accompanies his mother to the market.

12. Accomplish means to achieve or complete successfully; to do something successfully.
The worker was able to accomplish the building of the wall.

13. According to means as someone has said or as someone has written.
According to the schedule a bus stops here every half hour.

14.Account has two meanings.
a) a description of something that has happened .
He gave an account of the accident to the police.
b) an arrangement to keep money in a bank.
She deposits her paycheck into her savings account.

15. Accuse has two meanings.
a) to say a person is respinsible for an act or a crime
b) To make a statement against someone
The witness accused the thief of stealing the car.

16. Ache means dull pain.
After i exercise, I feel an ache in my back.

17. Acquire means to obtain or get something.
I want to acquire experience so I can get a job.
I want to acquire a home so that I might have a place to live.

18. Across means from side to side; to the other side.
The bird flies across the sky.

19. Act means to do something.
When it rains, you must act in order to avoid getting wet.

20. Action means something that is done to achieve a result.
Her quick action prevented the accident.

21. Active means energetic and busy.
The little boys are very active.

22. An Activist is one who seeks change through action.
The activist organised the neighbors to plant a garden.

23. Activity means action ot movement.
The playground with children is full of activity.

24. An Actor is someone who acts in a play or a movie or a kind of show.
The role of king was given to a male actor.
A female actor is also referred to as an actress.

25. Actual means real or true.
A fire drill prepares you for an actual fire.

26. Add means to put something with something else to make it larger; to say more; something in math.
When you add one to two the result is three.

27. Address has two meanings.
a) to give a speech to someone.
The teacher addressed her students.
b) a street name and a number of a business or residence.
Her address in on the envelope.
Did you find the home at the correct address?

28.administration is the executive part of a goverment or another organization.
